I contacted Starbuck's press department to find out what is in their new smoothies. The following response was emailed to me from their representative:
"Here is the list of ingredients for Starbucks Vivanno™ Smoothies:
- Strawberry Banana Vivanno™ Smoothie: One whole banana, strawberry puree, 2% milk, whey protein & fiber powder, ice
- Banana Chocolate Vivanno™ Smoothie: One whole banana, bittersweet cocoa, 2% milk, whey protein & fiber powder, ice
- Orange Mango Banana Vivanno™ Smoothie: One whole banana, juice, 2% milk, whey protein & fiber powder, ice
Though the ingredients in the whey protein & fiber powder are proprietary, I can confirm that none of the smoothies contain eggs, meat or fish derivatives."

Vivanno Smoothies are still egg free. I was at Starbucks yesterday and they let me read the whey protein package ingredients label. The powder is also wheat/gluten free although the allergen warning reads that the product is made in a facility that shares equipment with wheat/gluten and egg products.
Starbucks doesn't mention the details of its strawberry puree. I like to know ALL ingredients and really think the gov't should require complete disclosure on all food items.
From the carton that the puree comes in at Starbucks, the puree is made of the following: reconstituted strawberry puree, white grape juice concentrate, natural flavouring (not one of my favorite ingredients and also an area in need of further disclosure), and lycopene for color.
