When I was in Vegas 2 weeks ago, I got to visit the famous Ronald's Donuts, known throughout the blogosphere for their vegan doughnuts. I had first heard of them through a reader's comment here. I asked one of the owners what led them to make vegan doughnuts and he stated they were started by his vegan brother-in-law. Yeast is the egg substitute.
The shop is located in a tiny strip mall off the strip at 4600 W Spring Mountain Road. Interestingly, there actually isn't anyone named Ronald, it is just a name they picked.I highly recommend calling ahead to make sure it's open (702-873-1032). Their hours when I was there were 4:00 a.m. to 2:00pm on Sundays and 4:00 p.m on Saturdays. We thought about staying up until 4:00 a.m. and getting the doughnuts but we're too old for that now. :)
The doughnuts on the bottom row were non-vegan.
I hadn't had a doughnut since giving up eggs in 2002 and their chocolate-raised doughnuts tasted just as good as I remember the non-vegan ones tasting. Wish they were closer! Definitely worth making a trip off the strip for if you like doughnuts.
Ronald's Donuts does not have a website.

Sarah,
I was in Vegas last week but did not have details about this place. Thanks for the information. I would like to try it the next time.

Awesome donuts for vegetarians. For past few years I always hit Ronalds before checking in. Make sure you reach before 4:00 on weekends.
