Whole Foods Market - $5 Off Coupon

Every so often I hear the term "Whole Paycheck" used in reference to Whole Foods. However, to their credit, they are currently offering a coupon on their site for $5 off a purchase of $25. Good until October 22.

They also mention having an in-store Whole Deal value guide that has over $40 in coupons, 15 budget recipes, money saving tips and more.

And don't forget they always give you 5 cents back per bag when you reuse your paper bags.

What are your favorite items at Whole Foods? I am a fan of their 365 Organic Ketchup - no high fructose corn syrup.

About a year ago, my husband went to Whole Foods in the South Loop, Chicago. As most of the foodies know, there are food counters inside the stores where you can order food and eat or take your food to-go. My husband stayed and ate his food and proceeded to go to the check-out line and pay for his meal. As absent minded as he is, he forgot about the sandwich and forgot to pay for it and just paid for the bottled water he drank. As he walked out of the store, the WF security guard grabbed him and took him to a back office. They took mug shots of him, insulted him for trying to steal food, obtained his driver's license and social security info and made him sign a form agreeing to never enter any Whole Foods store in the country. As he left the store, he gave $10 for his sandwich to the security guard and the clerk and they replied, "sir, your money is no good here." My husband wrote a letter to the Manager asking to remove the ban and explained his mistake, but to no resolve, the letter was never responded to. Its a sad story, but has resulted in our boycotting of the store.

Hi Rajeshree, Sorry to hear this! I am hoping that this is something that has to do with the South Loop store only and that Whole Foods does not behave this way in general. I have been in correspondence with the marketing assistant for the Westwood store in the past for my previous post. I will pass this information on to her.

I like their fresh whole wheat tortillas.

I haven't used it yet, but I recently bought tomato paste in a tube (as opposed to a can) there. I've been wanting to try this for a while, as a lot of recipes I use call for less than an entire can of tomato paste.
