Isshin - Free Edamame

Isshin, a sushi restaurant located on 10861 Lindbrook Drive in Westwood (Los Angeles) is a favorite among my co-workers. One of the owners provided me with following information on what is vegetarian and eggless:

Agedashi Tofu (no sauce)
Vegetable/ Curry Croquette
Sauteed Shitake
Sauteed Asparagus
Sauteed Enoki
Vegetable Spring Rolls

Vegetarian Set: Avocado Rolls, Pickle Rolls, Cucumber Rolls
The rolls can also be ordered separately and with your choice of filling.

They also offer a wide variety of steamed vegetables.

The vegetables are fried separately from the meats. The knife used for chopping vegetables and fish is wiped in between. Their tempura batter has eggs.

They will give a free bowl of edamame to anyone who mentions reading about them on this site. Special thanks to Mike for discovering this place!

Thanks for the shout-out, Sarah, but I have to tell you that the real person to thank is our co-worker Grant, who is known as the Mackerel King. In fact, while I introduced Grant to Isshin, it is Grant who introduced me to mackerel, which I love (though not as much as Grant does). Anyway, Isshin's got great food for everyone! Shout out to Risa and everyone there!

We like to fight over who gets the title "Mackerel King," but at the end of the day, it's Grant. (Wait, this is a vegetarian site, isn't it?) Sarah, props again for pointing us to the healthy, tasty stuff!

Hi guys, thanks for crediting me as the Mackerel King. It's really nice to see Mike and Erin taking the high road and acknowledging my title. But Mike was the one who first introduced me to the wonderful food and staff at Isshin. And Erin, well, Erin tagged along and also enjoys the place. Sarah, keep up the good work on this blog!

Hey, I just went to Isshin and they're gone! What's up with that, Sarah? I LOVED that place!
