Mio Babbo's

I spoke with the head chef and manager of this Italian restaurant located on 1076 Gayley Ave in Westwood, Los Angeles. There is no salad or main course on their menu that is vegetarian and eggless. Pasta, pizza, lasagna, and eggplant parmesan all contain eggs. You can special order a salad without the meat components, or request they make a vegetarian risotto with no chicken stock in the cream sauce. If you order the vegetarian risotto they will charge the same price as the chicken risotto irrespective of the fact that there is no meat. I had the risotto and would recommend requesting they go light on the cream sauce since I felt like I was mainly eating butter and couldn't eat more than 1/4th of the dish.

I'm curious: why is your diet eggless and not dairyless?

Dear Anonymous (10:10pm),

Thank you for your question. I am a lacto-vegetarian for religous reasons. If you would like to discuss things further, feel free to send me an email at sarah@goeggless.com. Thanks!
