India's Oven - Free Appetizers for Go Eggless Readers

8/12/08 update: India's Oven has extended their free appetizer deal until the end of August.

From 6/10/08:

I was recently surprised to learn that some Indian restaurants use eggs in their naan. I had thought that all Indian restaurants were egg-free.

Manjit, one of the owners of the family-owned India's Oven at 1896 Westwood Blvd in Los Angeles, has confirmed that they do not use eggs in any of their products.

Their vegetarian dishes are clearly marked on their menu (see here). They use corn oil and no lard.

He also mentioned they have 3 dishes without onions, potatoes, and garlic for Jains:
Paneer Makhni
Malai Kofta
Tofu Makhni

Common cooking tools (eg, pots, utensils) may be used but he notes that the vegetarian and meat items are prepared separately. They are fried in separate oil.

From now until the end of July, they will give a free appetizer to any Go Eggless reader who says that they read about them on this site.

Hello "Anonymous",
At the top line you can see I posted an update yesterday stating that they have extended the deal to the end of August. Hope you are able to take advantage of the deal!
